Dark circles can make you look tired and older. Many people are turning to microneedling to improve the appearance of dark circles. Here’s a simple guide to help you understand the process, costs, and reviews of this treatment.
This article is based on my personal experience with microneedling with prp for dark circles. Dr. Faiza Asmat from did the procedure for me.
What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure. It uses tiny needles to create small punctures in the skin. These tiny injuries encourage the skin to heal itself. This process boosts collagen production and improves skin texture.
How Does It Help Dark Circles?
Dark circles often occur due to thin skin or poor circulation under the eyes. Microneedling thickens the skin and enhances blood flow. As a result, the area looks brighter and healthier. It can also reduce fine lines, making the eyes appear more youthful.
Microneedling With PRP for dark circles
Microneedling is effective on its own, but adding PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) can enhance its benefits.
How It Works
The procedure starts with extracting little amount of blood from the body which is then spun in a machine to separate the platelets.. Meanwhile, a numbing cream is applied under the eyes to reduce discomfort during the process.
Above process takes half an hour till there is almost no sensation under your eyes.
Afterwards, a microneedling device is used to punch around under the eye area. The session usually takes 20–30 minutes. Later, your skin may look red, bruised and feel sensitive for a day or two..
After microneedling, PRP is applied to the skin. PRP is made from your own blood,
Platelets are rich in growth factors, speeding up healing and boosting collagen production under the eye
Benefits
- Faster healing compared to microneedling alone.
- Enhances skin regeneration, making results more noticeable.
- Great for deeper skin concerns like severe dark circles or wrinkles.
Limitations
- More expensive due to the additional PRP process.
- May involve slight discomfort during blood extraction.
How Much Does It Cost?
The cost depends on where you go and how many sessions you need. On average, each session can cost between $150 and $300. Packages often come with discounts, so it’s worth asking your clinic for deals.
How impactful it is for dark circles
Many people are happy with the results of microneedling for dark circles. They notice smoother and brighter skin after a few sessions. However, some say the changes are subtle. The results also depend on your skin type and the severity of your dark circles.
Is It Worth It?
Microneedling is generally safe when done by a trained professional. The results are not instant, but with patience, it can improve the look of dark circles. If you’re considering it, consult a dermatologist to see if it’s right for you.
Microneedling might be the solution you’re looking for. With the right care and expectations, it can make a noticeable difference
